Vanessa Churchill qualified as a chiropractor in 1999 and was one of the first chiropractors to register with the General Chiropractic Council and join the College of Chiropractors. She is a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association and the UK Chapter of Applied Kinesiology.
Vanessa is particularly interested in helping her patients to reach their individual health potential using non-invasive approaches. She has attended over 1000 hours of continuing professional development, and is particularly interested in the relationship of the structure to the whole body. She uses applied kinesiology, the original muscle testing technique that is only offered to health professionals to study, to assist in diagnosing the finding the source of a problem. As well as using gentle chiropractic adjusting techniques she has trained in craniosacral therapy and Activator method.
In 2002 Vanessa Churchill opened Hiltingbury Chiropractic in Chandlers Ford, on the edge of Southampton. The clinic services and expertise have evolved over the years so that there is a strong team of practitioners and admin staff.
Having had three children and now with three grandchildren, Vanessa understands the stresses and strains of pregnancy and childbirth and the physical demands of young children on a mother. She has undertaken courses in helping pregnant mums as well as helping to improve the difficulties that many children encounter when growing up.
She is also sympathetic to the needs of people in later life and feels that it is very important for them to be able to function to their full potential without relying on drugs or surgery. Keeping fit and active can be vital in maintaining independent living.
Vanessa dances and helps teach argentine tango for which good posture and balance are essential. She also practices yoga and in the past she was a keen competitive sportswoman, playing netball and doing high jump. She has also been a gymnast. Holidays have included skiing and sailing.
